The mega-online retailer recently announced its new minimum wage starts at $15 an hour—and now that includes seasonal employees, too. With the holidays on the horizon, more than a few people are about to turn to their computers, tablets and phones to start shopping. With all the holiday buying that will happen—and will happen soon—the internet giant is hiring plenty of new seasonal employees to help out. These jobs pay the new minimum $15 an hour minimum wage and include positions in Amazon’s customer fulfillment and delivery facilities. Along with the new minimum wage, employees also get weekly paychecks and flexible shift options. Yep, that’s perfect for a busy moms and dads! According to Dave Clark, SVP for Amazon Operations, “For those who are looking for short-term roles to help pay for gifts or supplement other income, this is a great opportunity to try a role with Amazon for the first time. We also have team members who return to work at Amazon during the holidays year after year.” If you’re considering applying for one of the many seasonal positions, head on over to Amazon’s hiring website ASAP. After announcing their minimum wage increase, a rush of potential employees (70,000) applied within 48 hours.
