Between 12 and 18 months your toddler will likely be ready to transition to one nap.
Signs can include:
• Consistently skipping the morning or afternoon nap several days a week
• Taking so long to fall asleep in the morning that there isn’t enough time for an afternoon nap
• Suddenly experiencing much shorter naps for an extended period
• Regularly sleeping less than 10 hours a night with two naps
When it’s time to drop a nap, keep in mind that the remaining nap is generally in the middle of the day with an earlier bedtime.
Be flexible and offer two naps as needed – especially if you notice your kiddo is getting super cranky or waking extra early for the day.
