You know the old saying—If you want to get something important done right, ask a busy mom to do it. Well, we believe it, and we’ve rounded up 11 Atlanta moms to prove it. From work-life balance to favorite things to do in Atlanta, we guarantee you’ll pick up a few new tricks by reading about our 2016 Power Moms. Buckle your seat belts. You’re about to be inspired!

Dr. Kathryn C. Calhoun, Fertility Doctor at Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine

Dr. Calhoun is mom to Jack (8) and Campbell (5). For her, learning to blend her role as a mother and as a doctor has been similar to learning how to roller skate. “My balance has improved with age, but there are still a lot of times that I wish I could be home more—and sometimes I wish that I could be at work more—but I know I’m a better mother, wife, doctor and woman because I do both.”

Proud Moment: Getting to where she is today took 21 years of school, 7 years of post-graduate training, lots of student loans and five moves. “I share this accomplishment with my family and friends—they have supported and sacrificed with me along the way,” and she is proud of the families that she helps build at ACRM. “I love what I do and it is a privilege to be trusted as a physician, especially in the intimate world of fertility.”

Words of Wisdom: “Pick a good life partner and surround yourself with a strong village. You cannot do it alone, and it is richer to travel through life intertwined with other people.”
