DeeDee Niyomkul, Chef-Owner of Tuk Tuk Thai Food Loft

Restauranteur and entrepreneur DeeDee Niyomkul is no stranger to welcoming new members of the family. At age 29, she added to the Niyomkul family’s dining empire—that already included Nan Thai Fine Dining and Tamarind Seed—its youngest restaurant, Tuk Tuk Thai Food Loft. Not much later, she once again added to the family when her 10-month old son Deklan was born. And she’s at it again, planning the opening of a 4th concept restaurant in the Spring of 2017.

Proud Moment: DeeDee is a 3rd generation female professional chef. “I worked my way out of the coat check room at 11 years old in my parents’ first restaurant in NYC to managing the kitchen and business operations at Nan at age 24.”

Words of Wisdom: “Passion comes first. Start with the heart and the mind will follow. Surround yourself with supportive, loving, responsible and positive people.”
