From work-life balance to favorite things to do in Atlanta, we guarantee you’ll pick up a few new tricks by reading about our 2016 Power Moms. Buckle your seat belts. You’re about to be inspired!

Amanda Orr, Architect

Being able to see the big picture is a skill that serves Amanda well as both the owner of Amanda Orr Architects and as mother William (7) and Anne Marie (4). “Having the ability to take the day off for “lady day” with my daughter or attend a school event with my son helps me feel that I’ve achieved work-life balance, even if I make up for it by working at night,” she says. When she’s not designing homes “where I know clients will raise their children and make lifelong memories,” she loves traveling with her family—being in the moment, away from day to day distractions, and seeing their faces when they discover something new.

Proud Moment: Amanda is proud of owning her own business that produces tangible structures certain “to last beyond me,” and “raising (so far) well-mannered, independent, and creative children.”

Words of Wisdom: “Have a good team in place and don’t being afraid to lean on those folks when you need an extra hand makes working (and not feeling guilty) doable.”
