At first, you bridled at the thought of your baby on the back of the horse. But there are many Atlanta area barns that cater to young children that always put safety first. From general horsemanship to pony programs for preschoolers, these barns have it all and can teach your tots some valuable life lessons to boot. Here are six spots where your little foals can horse around.

Chastain Horse Park

Nestled next to Chastain Park in the heart of Buckhead, Chastain Horse Park boasts three barns, four arenas and over 30 school horses. Riders of all levels, ages three and up, will learn all aspects of riding and horsemanship with a primary focus on equitation, and hunter-jumpers. As they build confidence and corrdination, instructors also teach self-discipline and independence. CHP students learn the lesson that “you tack your own horse when you are tall enough.”
