Disneyland and LEGOLAND will no doubt be on the vacation wish list, but we’re here to tell you the following museums are giving amusement parks a serious run for their money. From tiny towns to giant locomotives, your kiddos will be begging to stay another day. Click through the gallery below to learn about our favorite spots from across the country.

Boston Children’s Museum

This waterfront gem will let little imaginations set sail with exhibits that include an environment that brings scenes from the beloved Arthur storybooks to life—setting plots in motion that put your little adventurer in the lead role—a 3-story climbing sculpture by the New Balance Foundation that's made of flowing curved platforms, and an awesome Count Down to Kindergarten classroom where up-and-comers get the chance to give the big leagues a try without the enrollment.  We especially love that their weekly programming includes a robust offering of cultural experiences that help kids develop skills to live cooperatively in a multicultural world.
