7 Creative Themes to Guarantee the Best Baby Playdate Ever

Organizing a playground meet-up or gathering at one mom’s house for a gab fest, while the babies all coo at each other is great, but why not step up your playdate game every once in a while. We came up with seven awesome themes that’ll take your baby playdate to the next level, providing new experiences for the little ones, amazing photo opps and inspiring you to break out of your every day routine. But don’t worry if you think planning an elaborate playdate is out of the question when parenting a baby, our ideas are collaborative, so every mom in the group pitches in to bring some of the fun. Happy playing!

Share Sensory Bags

For this playdate, every mom should create (and bring along) their own sensory bag for the babies to explore. Check out our post on how to make your own sensory bags for babies to get ideas. You can either assign each mom a sensory bag to make, or let them each get creative and come up with an idea on their own. Fill a bag with water, shower gel, hair gel, colorful paper grass or the like and hide in interesting objects - tiny ABCs, frozen peas, plastic bugs, beads and more. At the playdate, let the babies take turns feeling and squishing each of the different bags. Alternately, you could create a sensory bag assembly line of sorts so every mom leaves your house with a bag. In this scenario, you stock up on different colored hair gel and zipper plastic bags, while the moms bring little goodies to stuff inside. Why it's a Winner: You may dream of being crafty enough to create ten Pinterest-worthy sensory bags for your baby all on your own, but sharing with friends is easier and still gives your baby the benefit of exploring lots of different sensory stuff.
Photo: A Little Pinch of Perfect
fuck
