7 Creative Themes to Guarantee the Best Baby Playdate Ever

Organizing a playground meet-up or gathering at one mom’s house for a gab fest, while the babies all coo at each other is great, but why not step up your playdate game every once in a while. We came up with seven awesome themes that’ll take your baby playdate to the next level, providing new experiences for the little ones, amazing photo opps and inspiring you to break out of your every day routine. But don’t worry if you think planning an elaborate playdate is out of the question when parenting a baby, our ideas are collaborative, so every mom in the group pitches in to bring some of the fun. Happy playing!

Have a Get-Messy Backyard Baby Pool Party

We admit, this one requires a bit more time and energy to set up, but it's going to be a blast. Ask half of the moms in your group to bring a baby pool - this can be a small plastic pool or a small blow up pool (you'll want to have at least four pools). Then, ask the other moms to help fill the pools. The fun here is that they won't all be filled with water (though one could be)! You could fill one with balls of all shapes and sizes, another could be filled with a few bags of rice and lots of scoops and cups, and if you're brave you could fill one with dirt and little plastic animals or bugs to dig for buried beneath or cover the bottom of a pool with paper and leave edible finger paints inside. Recommend that babies come dressed to get messy - in diapers, swim diapers or play clothes that can get stained. Why it's a Winner: You're letting your babies have a sensory experience and get messy, all while outdoors.
