Small But Mighty: World’s Most Compact Stroller Will Change Your Life

Trending Now

Size matters – especially in the world of strollers. If you’ve ever tried to navigate a large, cumbersome stroller down a crowded store aisle or squeeze an unwieldy stroller into the trunk of a small sedan, you know that bigger is rarely better. Enter: the GB Pockit Stroller.

This stroller is tinySo tiny, in fact, it is billed as the “world’s smallest folding stroller” – a designation that won it entrance into the Guinness Book of World Records. Its minuscule size and ease-of-use make it a major life game changer for parents. Think of it like an umbrella stroller on steroids – steroids that make it way better, but not any bigger. Keep reading to learn more about this stroller game changer.

The bitty buggy measures up to a measly 12” x 14” x 7” when folded down to its smallest size. That’s just roughly two to three inches larger than a standard size piece of printer paper, which means the GB Pockit can be carried in a large bag or backpack. (Although there is a pliable plastic handle for those who’d prefer to carry it like a handbag.) It’s perfect for public transit and can slide easily into the overhead compartment of a plane, making you look like a jet-setting master.

The compact size also makes for a light load. While a stroller with serious poundage is great at building biceps, it can make heavy work out of toting baby around town, especially when subway stairs are in your path. This one rings in at 9 pounds – making it a breeze to open up (or fold up) and go. For this reason alone, the GB Pockit is worth its weight (and then some) in gold in our book.

How it Works

The opening and closing function is straightforward and effortless. No need to consult a wordy manual; the magic happens in seconds. Simply compress the two buttons on the handles (they’re white so they stand out) and apply light pressure downward to close. Or, press in the buttons and give it a little shake to open. It can even be opened and closed while holding your baby. Really, it’s that easy.

The wheels function similarly; users can toggle between “lock” and “swivel” mode using white buttons at the base of the wheels. A one-step foot break on the wheel that locks both rear wheels in place also comes in handy for parking the stroller. Note: the 4.5-inch wheels aren’t meant for rough terrain. They do best on flat smooth surfaces – so leave this one at home if you plan on doing any off-roading or even navigating the mulch in a playground area.

Of course, when it comes to strollers, no amount of great features is worthwhile without a nice ride. And, while we haven’t exactly heard it from baby, the GB Pockit seems to offer a smooth trip while feeling sturdy and well-built.

Safety & Style

The GB Pockit keeps comfort and safety front and center with a 5-point adjustable safety harness, a padded crotch and soft, removable straps covers. Underneath it all, the basket is easily accessible from front and back, and can hold up to 11 pounds, although we found it best for small, on-the-go necessities, like diapers, wipes, snacks and a water bottle.

Lastly, let’s talk looks: the GB Pockit has a sleek, minimalist design, befitting its size. The stroller comes in six bright colors, including pink, aqua and a yellow. The covers are removable (read: washable), so its spit-up and blow-out safe.

A Few Cons

But, not everything about the compact carrier is perfection. To have the world’s smallest folding stroller, you do have to make a couple of sacrifices. There is no cup holder and the sun visor offers minimal shade during full sun, a major drawback for outdoor outings. There is also no reclining function – meaning it is recommended for ages 6 months and up. But, it can be used up to 55 pounds, keeping it in the running as a worthwhile investment.

Bottom Line

All in all, the GB Pockit stroller has a lot going for it. For most, it probably won’t replace your primary stroller, but it is the perfect complement – ideal for quick trips into the store, crowded sidewalks and traveling. For those living in the city or anywhere that storage space is at a premium, the GB Pockit will undoubtedly earn a spot in their homes and hearts—a tiny one, that is.

GB Pockit stroller is available at, $250.
