What do you get when Chicago’s kindie rock musicians pool together for a great cause? Band Together: A Chicago Kindie Sampler, an awesome new CD featuring never-before-released songs by eight local artists. Profits from the CD — and the rockin’ release concert, happening March 8 at Lincoln Hall — go to Intonation Music Workshop, an organization devoted to music education for area children. Flip through our album to see the participating musicians and how they make an impact on the Chicago kids scene.

Poochamungas

Their music style: This is a rock band with many influences. They've been compared to the Allman Brothers and Bruce Springsteen for the kindie crowd. Their song on Band Together: "Whattaya Mean" is about the impending arrival of a new sibling and the panic that sets in about the unknown. Expect something altogether rocking with a country guitar vibe. What's next for Poochamungas: They're planning a robust summer concert schedule and should be at a festival near you. Also, they just wrote and completed a video for Brickton Montessori School.
