Chris Karabas – Co-Owner of The Rock House

After singing commercial music and moving to Nashville, Chris found his way back home to Chicago where he formed The Lucky Jackson Band. Chris is one-half of The Rock House music school and coffeehouse that teaches kids to "learn to make the instrument talk first … THEN go back and learn to read if you want.” You can check out his band at House of Blues, Bub City, Joe’s Bar and summer festivals. But, the real fun happens at Chris’ home in Wilmette, which is always bursting with the sounds of piano, guitar, ukulele and singing from his twins Chloe and Luke (12), Phoebe (6) and his wife, Margie. Through a happy accident, the Karabas family started “Families That Play Together” an informal music/play group, so that multitalented clans could get together and cut loose.
