Reindeer flights to the North Pole are hard to finagle this time of year — they’re busy, ya know? But several Chicago-area streets are outfitted with enough twinkly lights and decorations to make you feel like you’re on a merry Arctic getaway. They’re dubbed “Candy Cane Lanes” and you’ll understand why at first glance. Click through our gallery to discover the spots in the city and ‘burbs that will get you in the holiday spirit.

Sauganash/Lincolnwood

Meander around a six-block area on the far northwest side of Chicago and you’ll feel as if you and your family have been magically transported (probably by elves) to the North Pole. Around every illuminated corner in this area of Sauganash and Lincolnwood, households enhance themselves with massive Christmas trees, animatronics, Disney characters, and lots more whimsy. There's even a house with a ginormous tree that appears to project through the roof (shown above). Located along Devon Avenue, west of the Edens Expressway.

What is your favorite neighborhood to soak up holiday lights? Shout about it in the Comments!
