Reindeer flights to the North Pole are hard to finagle this time of year — they’re busy, ya know? But several Chicago-area streets are outfitted with enough twinkly lights and decorations to make you feel like you’re on a merry Arctic getaway. They’re dubbed “Candy Cane Lanes” and you’ll understand why at first glance. Click through our gallery to discover the spots in the city and ‘burbs that will get you in the holiday spirit.

Evergreen Lane – Winnetka

You all remember Home Alone, that quintessential holiday flick filmed in the Chicago suburbs. You all wish you could see that holiday nostalgia come to life — minus the criminals and implausible injuries. The closest you’ll come to realizing the fantasy is at a cozy house in Winnetka, an abode that looks straight out of a Macaulay Culkin film, especially seeing as it is utterly draped in lights. Expect to marvel at illuminated Santa and reindeer figures, snowmen, massive trees, penguins and lots more. Located at 145 Evergreen Lane in Winnetka.

What is your favorite neighborhood to soak up holiday lights? Shout about it in the Comments!
