Grab your biggest treat bag and get your bell-ringing fingers ready. We know which neighborhoods and community events you should hit this Halloween. From parades to merchant trick-or-treating, there are frights and delights from Lincoln Square to Naperville — so many, in fact, you might need a second bag to carry your haul. Here are our picks that are guaranteed to get your little ghouls and goblins running for more, more, more!

Buffalo Grove

Buffalo Grove’s Community Arts Center rolls out the red carpet for costumed kids at its annual Trick or Treat Trail. This is a great event if you have fraidy-cats in your crew: it’s a strictly “No Scare” event, so no creepy costumes, please. Carnival games and face painting are on the menu of fun, but your best bet is to grab your bag and head down the trail to hit the candy stations.

Trick or Treat Trail, Friday, October 28, from 6:30 – 8 p.m.
Buffalo Grove Community Arts Center, 225 McHenry Rd.
Participation is free.
