In what seemed like the blink of an eye, Southport Avenue in Lakeview became the most family-friendly street in Chicago. We spent a recent afternoon there and soaked up everything from a new community market to a hidden-gem park to an out-of-this-world barbershop. Flip through our photo album to see what editor Kelly and her two five-year-olds did on their afternoon blitz. Then get out there and choose your own adventure.

Lunch: Crosby’s Kitchen

We arrived hungry. <a target="_blank" href="http://www.crosbyschicago.com/&quot; target="_blank">Crosby's Kitchen</a> hit the spot with gourmet PB&amp;Js for the boys and Brussels sprouts salad for Mom. For dessert: a ginormous skillet cookie topped with ice cream. While we waited for our grub, the boys kept busy coloring and watching a huge rotisserie spin in the open kitchen. Keep in mind that kids eat free here every day from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Find it at 3455 N. Southport Ave. (773-883-2525).fuck
