CircEsteem’s unites youth across all backgrounds and identities by fostering self-esteem and mutual respect through the practice and performance of circus arts! We hold a variety of programs all across the city of Chicago, through Summer Camp, After School programs, in-school residencies, private workshops and Circus Birthday Parties. CircEsteem believes in giving all youth their chance to clown around and acheive success, all through a social and emotional learning lense.

The skills we teach vary depending on the program and the limits of the space (and circumstances) but can include: German Wheel, Aerial Silks, Trapeze, Juggling, Stilt Walking, Acrobatics, Unicycle, Clowning, diabolo, plate spinning and so much more! We teach students as young as 4 (during our Circus Tots program on Saturdays during the school year) and as old as 18 (members of our advanced performance troupe have the opportunity to train and rehearse performances up to 5 days a week!)

CircEsteem is Chicago’s Social Circus, which means that we are dedicated to using Circus Arts to bring youth together to lift eachother up (sometimes literally) and build community and deconstruct social barriers.

We specialize in drawing out the imagination!

Unicoi Art Studio has been providing exceptional art activities for kids in Chicago since 1999. We were voted the best art classes in the city for 2008 and 2009, by the parents of Chicago (Nickelodeon’s Parents Picks Award). Unicoi’s mission is to “draw” out the imagination in every child, with projects designed to be informative, engaging and fun for children ages 3-15. We use premium quality artist materials, so at a young age the students experience rich colors, unusual textures and a variety of unique materials. Our teaching philosophy is for children to be able to use their creativity to explore the subjects that interest them and for our teachers to provide the safe and structured environment to support their exploration.
