Chicago, Il.: The Carousel at Navy Pier

This whimsical neighbor of Navy Pier’s Ferris wheel was designed exclusively for the Pier to re-create its golden age of the 1920s. The 36 hand-painted horses, chariots and frog are just a few of the featured characters meant to represent the different carousel styles found throughout history. Look up while you’re riding to see hand-painted scenes of the Pier’s history on the rounding boards. Children of all ages can ride for $6, but those under 42 inches tall must be accompanied by a ticketed adult.
