When it comes to carousels, we’ve got round and round trying to pick some of our favorites. With old-timey melodies, speeds that even babies can enjoy, and elaborately decorated animals, carousels are instant classics over generations. Spring Green, Wi: House on the Rock Carousel

Fans seeking out the largest indoor carousel in the world should head to Wisconsin’s House on the Rock Carousel. With 269 carousel animals, 182 chandeliers, over 20,000 lights the wow factor is here. The hundreds of mannequin angels hanging from the ceiling give the carousel a creepy-but-cool vibe. Fans of Neil Gaiman may recognize the carousel from his novel American Gods and will be thrilled to experience this bizarre carnival attraction for themselves. You can even stay overnight at the House on the Rock Inn.

Open Mar. 10-May 1, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. every day except Tues. & Wed.
May 2-Oct. 16, open daily 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Oct. 17-Nov. 13, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. every day except Tues. & Wed.
Special holiday hours during the Christmas season.
