At Cookology, kids as young as three learn to measure, mix and roll, while tweens and teens learn essential culinary techniques like knife skills, vegetable cookery, pasta making and more as they make sophisticated, delicious dishes. Choose from popular classes such as Cupcake Wars; Happy Thanksgiving; Holiday Baking; and Holiday Treats: Make Great Gifts. They also specialize in birthday parties and summer camps.

Tiny Chefs
There’s no pretending here. Tiny Chefs seeks to use cooking to teach kids valuable skills that they can carry with them through life. Children practice math, reading comprehension, team building and health all in a fun afternoon of cooking. Classes are interactive, educational and fun. Upcoming themes include Gingerbread House Decorating (ages 4-10) held at Manoli Canoli in Chevy Chase and Pie Sisters in Georgetown.

Culinaria Cooking School
Culinaria features a large range of themed classes with something for everyone.  Adults can choose from classes that focus on healthy meals, soups, dough, regional and ethnic cuisine, and wine and food pairings. Kids can get creative with gingerbread house decorating or a holiday baking classes. Most classes combine both demonstration and student participation, last from two to three hours and range from $65 to $130 per person. This winter, let your tweens and teens spend the winter break in a Pizza Pockets & Stomboli or Holiday Baking class.

L’Academie de Cuisine LADC
L’Academie de Cuisine is one of the most popular cooking schools in the country and manages to regularly turn out talented chefs. This doesn’t mean, of course, that their classes are all too serious. At L’Academie, you can find fun parent/child classes with themes such as Holiday Candy and Holiday Sweet Treats. There’s also a popular kids summer camp for ages 9 – 17 with morning and afternoon sessions.  Participants learn about world cuisine with themes such as French Favorites, Patisserie Shop, Cookies of the World, and All About Asian.
