Tiny Tim’s Christmas Carol
The Adventure Theatre MTC offers up a new way to view the tried and true tale of “A Christmas Carol”. Focusing on the father/son story of Tiny Tim and his dear ol’ Dad Bob Crachit, it tells the world premiere story of Tiny Tim and his best friend Charlotte working hard to change the mind of Mister Scrooge, the meanest man in town. A wild ride of a Christmas tale that the four-and-up set will adore.

Snow Day
The Lorton Workhouse and Arts on the Horizon presents Snow Day. Perfect for wee ones ages 2-6, the world-premiere production will delight all members of the family. The story showcases the wonder of winter through the eyes of one small child. A great story that will get the cold-weather season started off right. Bonus: An early show time will have the fun done before naptime too.

The Nutcracker Puppet Show
For more than 25 years the Glen Echo Puppet Company has delighted children of all ages (and grown-ups) with the art of puppetry. See Clara, the Mouse King and all their friends and foes in this Washington tradition. Music by Tchaikovsky, sugarplum fairies and marionettes join together for an afternoon of fun with the Nutcracker. Runtime is 30 minutes, making it easy to squeeze in a bit of culture between the other holiday festivities.

Holiday Sing-a-Long
Wolf Trap is where it’s at when it comes to a bit of early evening entertainment that keeps the whole family in tune. Bring a candle or a bell and an unwrapped toy (Wolf Trap participates in Toys for Tots) and get ready to sing your heart out with the United States Marine Band. The tots will love jingling  their own bells during “Jingle Bells” and fall in awe with the candlelight processional of “Silent Night” that caps off the evening.
