Enter Munchery, a service that recently started delivering fresh, restaurant style suppers to D.C. foodies and their families. So while it’s not quite magic, Munchery is a dream come true for busy moms and dads all around the district. Bon appetit!Photo: Munchery How it works:Start by planning ahead and ordering by 9 am for guaranteed same day delivery. You’ll choose from options for main dishes, sides, kids’ meals, desserts AND drinks (think: sparkling water for you and a juice box for kiddo)! The menu switches up regularly, depending on the fresh ingredients available to the Munchery chefs. There are even meals available for those with special dietary needs, like Vegan Black Bean Enchiladas. Dinner ($11 for adults and $7 for kids) is delivered chilled with simple in-oven or microwave heating instructions. Insiders secret: Order double for a healthy prepacked lunch the next day. Photo: MuncheryKid meals they’ll beg for:It’s no secret that Mom’s Secret Sauce With Pasta is a huge hit for the toddler crowd. Another fan fave is the chicken teriyaki that comes with the sauce on the side (genius!). The kids meals are slightly smaller than the grown-ups grub, but just as filling, courtesy of a tasty veggie side included with every meal.Photo: Miller JacksonDo Good:Munchery is currently in five cities across the country, including D.C. They promise locally sourced ingredients and each food container and untensil is recyclable. Another great thing is that for every one meal you order, Munchery (who believes that everyone deserves a good meal) feeds someone at a local food bank.Have you tried Munchery? Want to give it a try?
