In case you forgot, the Vistaprints and Shutterflies of the world are here to remind you that the magical season, where you send well wishes and season’s greetings, is just around the corner. If you’re dreaming of a family photo worthy of that discount code (and the gold foil upgrade!), check out this list of tried-and-true locations favored by some of the area’s most popular photographers.

Spot: Public Parks

Why It’s Great: “My favorite place for family portraits is surely one of the city’s stunning parks. I love the look of a family bundled up in festive scarves and warm coats having fun in front of my camera with the changing leaves in the background. And tiny humans running up a flight of stairs or climbing on a log can really mix up the look of a traditional portrait. We are so lucky that our city is full of parks of all sizes that usually aren’t too crowded.”
