We…Hung Out With Farm Animals

"My birthday was on a Monday this year (womp, womp), but my kiddo and I made the best of it with a barnyard birthday celebration at Oxon Hill Farm . This 19th-century plantation turned living farm is free to visit (thanks, National Park Service!) and features fun educational programming. During our visit, my tot got up close and personal with Allen the goat and perfected his moo with the farm's cows. We also took advantage of their indoor play area with trucks and tractors galore.

Our trip went 'full circle' with lunch at Elevation Burger at National Harbor, which is just a few minutes' drive from the farm. Their sustainable menu features only organic, grass-fed beef as well as veggie burgers and fries cooked in olive oil. My son highly recommends their kids' burger!" --Sarah Vogel
