Psychologists Say It May Make You Happier Explore: Crossroads Park Sure, Crossroads Park is a ripe destination this weekend (June 27-28), given it’s home to the Bellevue Strawberry Festival. But it’s also a great anytime-adventure, where the kiddos can explore the sprawling lawns, hit the playground and (in warm weather) get cooled off in the awesome dinosaur and Orca whale spray park. We especially love this park for its ability to amuse a variety of ages. There are two sizes of playsets (big and small), both of which are outfitted with neat puzzles of Bellevue’s sister cities (like Liepaja, Latvia; Kladno, Czech Republic; and Yao, Japan). There’s a basketball court to shoot hoops or play hopscotch on, and plenty of covered areas with picnic benches. And the half-moon shaped amphitheater is a perfect venue for the littles to put on a show for you. For a coffee fix, saunter next door to the London Coffee Co. espresso kiosk, which is in the parking lot of the Chevron at 174TH Ave. and NE 8th Street. And if you’re in the mood for lunch, Crossroads Mall’s terrific International food court is just a few blocks west on NE 8th Street.
