Psychologists Say It May Make You Happier Explore: Seattle Center Fountains ds, things to do with kids in Seattle, Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond Sure, you can ride to the top of the Space Needle, or go to the Children’s Museum (where Curious George runs through May 10) or hit the latest kiddie show at Key Arena (Walking With Dinosaurs runs through Sunday), all of which can be a hit on the wallet. But you can also just hang out and enjoy the view and the Center’s many great fountains. Park at the public lot on Harrison, just north of EMP ($4 for 1 hour, $8 for 2 hours), and walk up the wide pedestrian (and stroller-friendly) path toward Key Arena and you’ll hit the wonderful International Fountain, a wet and wonderful crowd pleaser in good weather. Walk around to the north side of Key Arena to find the Dupen Fountain, which was installed as part of the 1962 World’s Fair. Two others include the Fountain of the Northwest, which is in the courtyard of the Intiman Theatre, and the Fountain of the Seseragi, which is on the north side of the theatre. Be sure to bring some pennies to make lots of wishes! And of course, there’s nothing like experiencing a festival at Seattle Center. Coming May 12 to 16 is Giant Magnet (formerly the Seattle International Children’s Festival).
