After visiting relatives in other, more frozen parts of the country over the holidays, we’re even more grateful to live on the coast and have such abundance of year-round outdoor activities A favorite hiking trail is the mostly flat and paved Tennessee Valley trail (with one hearty hill to burn off those extra holiday calories), just off Hwy 101 in Mill Valley. You can even do it with a stroller, and it’s an easy 3.1 miles roundtrip for little walkers or bikers. Beach views, interesting plants, and animals galore (wetland birds, bunnies, quail, horses and deer) make the time fly by for the little ones. Either pack a picnic for Tennessee Cove beach, or hit the local’s favorite kid-friendly Dipsea Cafe on the way home for a refuel. The blueberry-strawberry cheese blintzes always hit the spot.
