Psychologists Say It May Make You Happier From the shores of Tiburon and Belvedere, the Bay Area has never looked better. The ferry makes Tiburon totally accessible, and an afternoon spent in this corner of Marin has to have a nautical bent (Belvedere is technically an island after all)! This weekend the wooden boat show provides a perfect excuse to visit. Kids under 12 are admitted free to the boat show, and they can practice building their own model boats. Afterwards, take a spin around the Belvedere Community Park, one of the most popular playgrounds in southern Marin. The park features oodles of donated ride-on toys and a separate play area for the little ones.. After all the boat ogling and monkeying around, nosh on some guac and chips with a view at Guaymas, or a shrim pesto pie at kid-friendly Waypoint Pizza. For little ones who are fans of floating craft, there’ll be even more boats to scope out. Afterwards, a walk through The Candy Store is also a treat for the whole fam. Kids dig the electric train in the window and everyone loves the homemade fudge, waffle cone ice cream and other old school favorites. Hint: Head over on a Friday afternoon ferry for the family-friendly Friday Nights on Main celebration. The main drag is closed to cars and hosts live music, as well as food & drinks from the local restaurants and the occasional face painter or balloon twister. The Water’s Edge Hotel is at the center of all the action.
