PetSpace Kids Winter Camp Online

Winter fun should include cuddly pets and fascinating critters! Due to popular demand, Wallis Annenberg PetSpace is offering a special winter edition of its PetSpace Kids Camp Online. This three-day experience is designed for children ages 8-11 and offers an engaging exploration of the human-animal bond. Campers will learn all about pet adoption, veterinary care, animal behavior, and much more, all from the comfort of a virtual experience at home.

Between December 28 and 30, campers can discover training techniques and receive a behind-the-scenes tour of our Health Center, where adoptable animals receive care before finding their forever homes. Kids will go crazy for Critter Corner, a new area featuring small companion animals that gives an inside look at how potential adoptable pets can include snakes, turtles, birds, and rabbits. Finally, no camp session is complete without the opportunity to witness a mutt makeover in the Groom Room, followed by a virtual photo session. Each camper also receives a camper packet, including t-shirt, crafts, and more.

Learn Spanish With Instituto Cervantes

The Instituto Cervantes program is designed to provide children of different ages the opportunity to learn Spanish in a rich, stimulating, and motivating environment that fosters enjoyment and curiosity.

Children will learn Spanish in a safe atmosphere where they will feel comfortable and free to actively participate. Students will be nurtured and encouraged to communicate in Spanish and work in collaborative groups – promoting cooperation, group effort, and authentic communication.

All program activities are age-appropriate, adapting language instruction and activities to the needs of students.

Children & teenagers from 4 to 15 are welcome. They will be placed in the appropriate class according to their proficiency in Spanish. Bilingual and heritage speakers are also welcome.

GLOW at South Coast Botanic Garden

South Coast Botanic Garden is proud to present GLOW, a visually stunning art installation that will transform our lush botanic oasis into an oceanic experience for our Garden Lights & Ocean Waters theme using thousands of lights designed by California Outdoor Lighting. The after-dark walking experience is set to an artistically curated soundtrack featuring a little something for everyone, including original electropop created for GLOW by DJ Jerzy, as well as Baja surf music, Train and Vivaldi. Let the colors wash over you like a wave and the music be your current, guiding you through this unique and unforgettable after-dark walk through the Garden.

Glow is open daily from November 21 through January 10, 2021, with the exception of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Timed tickets are available for as early as 5:30 p.m. and as late as 8:30 p.m. with 9:00 p.m. tickets available on select nights.

Tickets are $24.95/person for Members, $34.95/person for Non-Members. Children 4 and under are free.

Elevated Sportz Trampoline Park

Elevated Sportz combines the gravity-defying fun of a trampoline center with the enchantment of an indoor playground in one all-encompassing entertainment arena for all ages. Inside the two-sectioned play center, bouncers can hurtle into the air, play games of dodgeball, or flip into a foam pit on wall-to-wall trampolines equipped with protective pads. In addition, guests can test their skills on the Ninja Course and battle beam, or pretend to be a secret agent as they dodge light beams in the laser maze. On the other side of the building, a multi-tiered play castle with tunnels, bridges, racing slides, and a ball pit entices younger visitors to release pent-up energy or practice stealth maneuvers for upcoming cookie-jar raids. Guests who need to catch their breath can take a break from reality on the VR machine or play on other action-arcade games, or relax in the cafe with espresso, fresh-made salads and pizza, and snacks while surfing free WiFi.
