Little Kitchen Academy is the key ingredient for an independent child! We are the first-of-its-kind Montessori-inspired cooking academy for kids ages 3 through teen focused on providing a safe, inspiring, and empowering space for children to identify, develop, and refine their senses. In each class, students learn how to make healthy, delicious meals from scratch to consumption — all while experimenting with math and science concepts, working on their reading skills, and polishing up their table manners.

Sessions of three-hour classes are organized by age group for up to 10 students per session (ages 3-5, 6-8, 9-12, and 13+ years old), and are overseen by three instructors per class. The curriculum focuses on seasonal, locally grown, and organic produce and ingredients, and students enjoy the fruits of their labor for a “scratch to consumption” experience.

Give your child the gift of independence and practical life skills with Little Kitchen Academy! With only 10 spots per session, spaces will fill up fast! Register your child now!

The OES curriculum is rooted in inquiry and exploration, with students (Pre-K through Grade 12) engaging deeply in hands-on, discussion-based, project-oriented learning inside and outside the classroom. Students receive a solid academic foundation in core subjects and benefit from small class sizes where everyone is known and appreciated as an individual. Whether in academics, music, art, world languages, or athletics, students take an active, empowered role in their education.

Time is intentionally set aside for regular gathering and reflection to consider the world beyond our campus. We educate toward a larger purpose: inclusion and respect, understanding and compassion, service and social justice, meaning and commitment.

Our 59-acre campus in Southwest Portland includes wetlands, nature trails, and athletic fields where students can explore and play. Learn more about OES at www.oes.edu and sign up for Open House.
