Hilary Duff Gave Birth to Her Baby Girl & Fans Adore Her Unusual Name

The wait is finally over! On Thursday, Oct. 25, Hilary Duff gave birth to her second child with boyfriend, Matthew Koma. This is the couple’s first child together.

Banks Violet Bair joins six-year-old big brother Luca Cruz from Duff’s previous marriage to hockey player Mike Comrie. We are loving the sweet new baby’s name! The Younger actress made the announcement via Instagram on Monday, with some adorable photos of their family’s new addition.

Duff has been open and honest her entire pregnancy, sharing her joys and also her struggles such as working mom guilt and accepting the pains of pregnancy. Last month she fully admitted via Instagram Story that she was over being pregnant and ready for baby girl to make her entrance––we’ve all been there!

While we don’t know the entire story behind Baby Banks’ full name, we do know that Bair is Koma’s given last name. Duff tells People that Violet was initially going to be their daughter’s first name, but they went with Banks instead.

Fans don’t seem to mind that they don’t know the back story to the baby’s name and they’re sharing their joy and well wishes on Twitter with the happy parents.
