According to a poll conducted by the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor,Michigan, more than half of parents continue to give over-the-counter cough and cold medicines to children under the age of 2, despite serious warnings from the Food and Drug Administration in 2008. The study determined that race and household income factored into usage, but perhaps the most troubling finding was that 57% of parents polled said their doctor recommended the medicines.

Do you still give your kids cough medicine? Do you feel that your child’s doctor is up-to-date on health issues and warnings? How often do you get a second opinion?
