Make Your Amazon Purchases Count for So Much More This Week

With $100 million donated to charities already, you might not know that Amazon gives back in a pretty big way, through its AmazonSmile program. How does AmazonSmile work? It’s as easy as firing up your browser every time you shop on Amazon.

If you haven’t heard of AmazonSmile, get ready to revolutionize the way you shop. You already know how crazy-easy Amazon has made your shopping. Well, if you visit Smile.Amazon.com instead of the regular site, a portion of your purchase price goes to a charity of your choice. Yep, that’s right. You get to buy your fave bath products, tennis shoes, a baseball mitt for your little slugger, onesies, or any of your other usual picks on the mega online retailer. And you get to help someone in need out. Yay!

The AmazonSmile site is exactly the same as Amazon. The only difference is that whole “part of your purchase goes to charity” thing. So that makes it a total win-win. Right?

Scott Harrison, Founder and CEO of charity: water said, of AmazonSmile, “It’s been incredible to see AmazonSmile grow, with customers now bringing clean water to over 42,000 people around the world.” Harrison went on to add, “When people gain access to clean and safe drinking water, families are healthier. Dignity is restored. Women and girls who wasted hours every day walking to collect dirty water can go to school, earn extra income, or spend more time with friends and family. The impact AmazonSmile has made is far-reaching, and we can’t wait for what this community does next.”

Oh, it gets even better. From Oct. 29 through Nov. 2, AmazonSmile will donate even more of your purchase price to charity. This week only, the online super-store will give five percent (that’s 10 times their typical donation rate) to your charity of choice.

According to Jeff Wilke, Amazon CEO Worldwide Consumer, “Hundreds of thousands of charities have been able to expand their meaningful work thanks to the donations they’ve received through AmazonSmile, and we want to say thank you to customers who are supporting important causes every time they shop.”

So head on over to AmazonSmile and shop for a good cause!
