John Krasinski Won’t Let “Jack Ryan” Keep Him from Being a Regular Dad

He may have started out as the sweet and easy-going Jim on The Office, but Jack Ryan star John Krasinski is now officially a full-fledged mega star. He’s also a regular dad—and he won’t let his fast-paced career keep him from playing his most pivotal role.

Taking on the globe-trotting titular role of super spy Jack Ryan for Amazon’s new series hasn’t stopped Krasinski from spending time with his family. Despite a grueling shoot schedule that has sent the actor half-way around the world, Krasinski insisted on flying home every single weekend to spend time with his wife, fellow actress Emily Blunt, and their two young daughters, Hazel and Violet.

“I mean, those kids are everything to me. My wife is everything to me,” he told The TODAY Show. “And it’s one of those things where a lot of people have lives where they’re away from their kids and so you just have to make the effort. I was so glad to.”

The actor joked that he got “professional jet lag,” but it was totally worth it to be with his family. “It was tiring, but you just do it.”
