J.K. Rowling Is Writing Her First Kids Book Since “Harry Potter”

It’s been over ten years since we waved goodbye to Harry Potter, so we are pretty ecstatic to learn that J.K. Rowling is writing a new kids book! In a recent blog post on her site, JKRowling.com, the author states that after she finishes her current project she will “be writing another book for children. I’ve been playing with the (non-Harry Potter/wizarding world) story for about six years, so it’s about time I get it down on paper.”

Even though we haven’t had the pleasure of a fresh Rowling kids novel since 2007, the writer has still been pretty busy. In that time, she’s written several adult novels, including a crime fiction series under the pseudonym of Robert Galbraith and of course, the screenplays for the Fantastic Beasts films.

Not much else is known about the upcoming novel, except that it won’t involve the wizarding world (yes, you can put away that wand now). We are also unsure if the new project will be a stand-alone novel or part of a series, although we hope it’s the latter.

All we know for certain is that we can’t wait to get our hands on the newest book that will undoubtedly pull us into a new fantasy world!
