Sure, you can teach your kids to go out and save the planet (or at least, plant a seed), but sometimes the only thing our future eco-kiddos want to do is watch TV. So why not let the screen guide them? Inspire the next generation with shows and movies that get even the littlest of kids thinking about the Earth—and their place on it.

Earth to Luna

If you want to keep screen time to a minimum, this 12-minute show is a good choice for preschoolers who love to ask “Why?” (In other words: All preschoolers.) Why do our voices echo? Why is the ocean salty? Why do we recycle? Six-year-old Luna wants to know, and she won’t stop until she finds out. Featuring simple, slow-paced animation, Earth to Luna introduces kids to basic scientific concepts and environmental ethics in a way that won’t feel like school.

Ages: 3+
