Photo: Disney via YouTube While there hasn’t been a flood of details about the upcoming flick, reportedly Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich of Rideback are producing the live-action version of the Disney tale. They’re also the duo producing the live-action remake of Aladdin, scheduled to debut in coming May 2019. Along with the production team, reports are swirling that Mike Van Waes will write the script and Rideback’s Ryan Halprin will co-produce. As of now, Disney has not named who will star in the live-action film or given any story-related information. Disney released the original animated buddy movie way back in 2002. The film, and its beloved, quirky characters, quickly became fan faves. With a $273 million worldwide box office gross, clearly Lilo & Stitch was a hit. As of now, there is no release date yet for this film. —Erica Loop Featured Photo: Disney via YouTube RELATED STORIES: These 5 Disney Movies Are Getting Live-Action Remakes in the Next 5 Years Disney Has Plans to Make an Original Live-Action African Princess Film, “Sade” Disney’s Live-Action “Dumbo” Teaser Trailer Will Make You Sob—& Cheer, Too
