We thought last year was the year of the ice cream in Los Angeles, and nothing would ever top all the amazing new offerings available to Angeleno kids (and parents!). Well hold on to your waistbands, because if anything, this summer saw even MORE out of this world ice cream spots open up. From tacos to churros to cauliflower, discover the coolest new treats LA is scooping.

Churro Borough

File this under why has no one thought of this before? Churro Borough in Los Feliz is sandwiching ice cream between cinnamon and sugar coated fried dough to create a crunchy & creamy taste sensation no one can resist; 4 months after opening there are still long lines for the delectable sammies, paletas and something called churro fries.

We all scream for: For kids we pick the churro fries: kids love the dipping sauces, parents love that it’s easy portion control. But grownups are plenty big enough to eat a whole fried dough and ice cream sandwich, and the Spicy Mexican Chocolate ice cream hits our sweet (and spicy!) spot.
