The Irvine Christmas Train: A Memorable Ride You’ll Never Forget

Read next

We don’t need snow to have a winter wonderland in SoCal.  We have our very own, magically lit winter wonderland packed with bouncy houses, Christmas activities, story readings by Mrs. Clause, and a colorfully lit Christmas train!  The whole family will love riding the Christmas train to take a picture on Santa’s lap while sipping hot chocolate, eating cookies, and enjoying many other holiday activities.

The Christmas Train
Those that board the Christmas train will be transported to the North Pole to meet and greet with the big guy himself, Santa Claus!  Brightly lit candy canes decorate the line that awaits the big meeting.  You can purchase hot cocoa and chocolate chip cookies while you wait in line.  Once it’s your turn, it’s the perfect photo opp for that awesome family photo while the little ones tell Santa their wishes on his lap.  Be sure to have the kiddos fill out this wish list to bring to Santa.  After the monumental meeting with Mr. C, you and the kids will return to the station by boarding the Christmas Train again and chugging through a tunnel decorated with hundreds of Christmas lights.

Activities
There are a ton of activities for the kiddos to enjoy.  They include: photos with Santa, Santa Bounce House Jumper, Story time with Mrs. Claus, Christmas Cookie Decorating, Christmas Carnival Games, Christmas Coloring Corner, and fun Picture Stands.  To receive 2 FREE train tickets, email your favorite Irvine Park Railroad Christmas Train picture and mailing address to info@irvineparkrailroad.com and only 1 photo per family will be accepted.  Note that these free tickets are not valid for the Christmas Train ride and are only for the regular train rides.

Purchasing Tickets
Christmas Train tickets cost $10 a person, but kids aged 24 months and younger ride for free.  Activity tickets cost $4.00 each but your best bet is buying a book of activity tickets for $50 since this will save you $10 and there are a ton of activities the kids will want to experience.  Train tickets sell out fast so buy them ahead of time online, but please note that there is a fee of $7.50 per order when purchasing them online. Try to arrive at least an hour before your scheduled train ride since it does get crowded. You may board the train at anytime during the hour for which you have purchased your tickets.

Coupons and Parking
Parking is free after 5:00pm on certain days, and during holidays it is $7.  Parking prices and schedules are subject to change so your best bet is to call them at 714-997-3968 before you go.  Here’s also a coupon for $2 off a photo with Santa.  If you don’t want to purchase a photo, you can always bring your own camera and snap away!

Refund Policy
The Irvine Park Railroad does not offer refunds for their Christmas Train Tickets.  If for some reason you aren’t able to board the train on the date you purchased the tickets for, just contact them on that  same day to exchange the tickets for a different date.  You can contact them by calling them on the phone, email, or just walking up to the ticket booth.
