It’s Ladies Night: Fab Spots For a Mom Date

Read next

If “ladies’ night” is nothing more than a song title to you, it’s time to dust the cobwebs off your swankiest outfit and live it up with the gals during a night on the town! We’re not saying you have to go clubbing ‘til sunrise, but getting out of the house after dark (taking out the trash doesn’t count!), actually getting to complete an entire sentence without being interrupted by your toddler, dining on delicious food that wasn’t initially served on a high chair tray, getting pampered and having a whole lot of grown-up fun could make you feel like an entirely new woman… in a matter of hours. What’s a mom date, you ask? It’s swapping out your ponytail to let your hair down, swiping on some lipstick instead of chap stick, and donning heels instead of sneakers to meet up with other moms for the sole purpose of having fun and focusing on YOU. Here are some great places to have a mom date on the westside.

Sweet Lady Jane
A divine bakery that’s open for late night indulgences? How sweet it is! Venture out sans kids and treat yourself (without having to share) to a decadent dessert enjoyed in good company. Sweet Lade Jane is famous for catering to celebrities, but the real star is their mouth-watering goodies. Shimmy up to a slice of the bakery’s flourless chocolate decadence cake, sink your teeth into a sea salt brownie or tip your head back to bite into a chocolate mousse taco and forget about what your pilates instructor would say, just for a moment.

Caffe Luxxe
Motherhood is all about being flexible and always having a contingency plan, right? If your after dark mom date plans fall through or you’re needed on the home front from bedtime and beyond, we thought we’d add a daytime/early evening mom date idea to our list. It just so happens to be centered around the official elixir of parenthood: coffee. Caffe Luxxe has “the best coffee in Los Angeles,” according to Los Angeles Magazine, so go get an amazing espresso drink that’s as pretty (thanks to the milk foam art of the baristas) as it is tasty, and dive into some coffee talk with your friends at one of the cafe’s locations, which are all on the west side.
