Just (Re)Opened: Inside the Bigger & Better Klub Gymnastics

Trending Now

Klub Gymnastics has long been a parent favorite for the coaches that not only teach great technique but also work to build confidence and strength in mind and body. But the old Silverlake space couldn’t hold all the kids that wanted to go. Now that problem has just been solved, but how!  The new and improved space in Frogtown right along the LA River has almost 40,000 sq. ft., more classes and cool perks.  You’re sure to flip for this great new kid’s gym.

Room to Stretch Out, and then More Room
Ok, so we already mentioned the space is bigger.  But it’s worth expanding on.  (Bad pun alert!) The Klub is now housed in a former furniture warehouse that has been converted into an almost 40,000 square foot roaming ground for mini gymnasts of all levels. The high wood-beamed ceilings and skylights provide incredible light and space that makes the kids want to leap for the sky. The Klub now houses more balance beams, larger trampolines and block pits for the kids to dive into. And with that extra space, the class schedule has expanded by 33 classes, which includes adult classes. If you’ve been intimidated by large classes, wait lists or new adventures now is the perfect opportunity to try it out. If you need more incentive, there’s parking (lots of glorious parking) and a pull up window where you can drop off kids if you’re running late.

Waiting Can Be Fun?
Besides expanded schedules and bigger, brighter toys there is more for the whole family.  One of the worst parts of bringing kids to classes is entertaining younger, or older, sibs. If you have a baby or toddler in tow while the older kids learn, the Klub has made it easier to pass that time with them. A little jaunt to the other side of the gym will bring you to the picnic area, complete with a faux grass area, toys and colorful L.A. River inspired murals painted with chalkboard paint where the kids can add their own touches. Plus, when a solo moment presents itself, parents can enjoy the new and improved Kardio Korner (expected March 1). Go ahead and get your sweat on. Older siblings can bring bikes or even skateboards for the nearby paths and parks.

Beyond Classes
Beyond the daily class schedule, the Klub also offers “Kamp” offerings throughout the year. If you’ve ever wondered what your balls of energy will do during school vacations this is a great offering. Daily schedules include gym classes, arts and crafts, movies and more. And if you’re in need of a date night (or just a quite few hours) Klub Night Out is perfect. Drop the kids off with a blanket and pjs and they’ll enjoy open gym, a movie and pizza dinner. Slumber party meets gym. The Klub also hosts birthday parties. A coach leads the birthday boy or girl and their pals through games, obstacles courses and open gym. They’ll even help with food, cake and cleanup. Check their website for more details.

But Wait, There’s More (to Come)
With a space that leads directly to the bike path along the revitalized LA River, the Klub plans to offer bike rentals this spring. For the time being, bring your own bike for a ride after class. And look out for Klub Kanine and a pop-up swim program this summer.

Great Perk: If you’re interested but on the fence about committing to a series of classes, your first class is free. You’ve got no excuse not to give it a try.

For Little Energizer Bunnies: The Klub is also just a breath away from Marsh Park. If your kids still have energy to expend after a class, give them a bit of outdoor playtime at this beautiful green space near the river.
