Viral & Trending Dad Gets Shamed for Using a Leash with 5-Year-Old Quintuplets Advertisement Pedal for your thoughts? Say that again? Sorry, we couldn’t hear you. We’re pedaling here. But hang tight. We’ll be eating ice cream soon. Calories out, calories in. And they’re glorious ones. Peddle to the people – Ice cream in good conscience. Just when we thought summers most celebrated treat couldn’t be improved upon, it up and makes the world a better place. How so? Talk to the fine minds behind Peddler’s Creamery. Talk to Edward Belden. He’s the one who took his Monrovia born bicycle habit and eco-conscious upbringing, and united the two in a brand new downtown dessert destination. What’s the draw? Take local products, support local causes, and make a little ice cream while you’re at it. Oh, and do it while you’re riding a bike. This time it actually is about the bike. Fair trade ingredients? Organic? Local & exotic? Check, check, check, and check. Kids don’t care. They walk in and they want in. On the bike of course. Have at it, kiddos. There are a couple for climbing, several artfully hung from the rafters, and one that’s off limits. It’s got a job to do.Pedal pushing. And pushing. All the ice cream is bicycle churned in small batches. What’s that mean? Exactly what it sounds like. Edward pedals the products several times a week. Awesome, right? But kids are natural born literalists. Talk-shmock, they need to see the action. Fair enough. Churning goes down after 7:00 pm. So you know those summer days when they take the late nap and it’s 5:00 pm and you have no idea what to do with them? Yup. You’re welcome. That’s the way they bike it. So we were totally taken by the concept and the carbon-reducing footprint behind the mission. (5% of all profits go to social and environmental causes – finally! We knew philanthropy was hiding somewhere in the cup.) But our kids? Forget about it. Smitten. Eating small batch chocolate mint cookie ice cream perched on these little stools. Little stools, soon to be adorned with pedals, just for kicks. Once they do? Block out the afternoon. To everything, churn, churn, churn… Maybe you recognize Peddler’s Creamery from CicLAvia, where Edward brought his wheels to LA’s most celebrated cycling street party. But he chose downtown LA as his first brick and mortar because the rebuilding and re-energizing felt right on par with his yearning for churning. Only a few weeks open, and a constant flow of people flock. Maybe it was the strawberry mint sorbet. Or the maple pancake ice cream. Either way, grab a spoon, and get your ticket to ride.Peddler’s Creamery 458 South Main Street Los Angeles, CA 90013 Phone: 213-537-0257 Online: peddlerscreamery.com Do you prefer your ice cream freshly churned on a bike, or freshly hocus-pocused with science?
