Lucky Charms Is FINALLY Getting This Long Overdue Marshmallow—for Good

It’s been 10 years, but now Lucky Charms unicorn marshmallow is becoming a new (and permanent) part of the beloved cereal. Yep, that’s right. The hourglass Lucky Charm is out and the magical, mystical, blue and purple swirly-maned unicorn is in.

Lucky Charms marketing manager Josh DeWitt said in a press release, “Our goal is not only to create a cereal that families and cereal fans will love and enjoy, but to inspire magical possibilities and help spark imagination and fun no matter what the age.” So we’re pretty sure that rejoicing over the unicorn addition is totally okay with everyone—even with us grown-ups.

Of course, it wasn’t actually adults who sparked this marshmallow overhaul. DeWitt went on to add, “That’s why, after 10 years, we decided to introduce a new charm with the help of the keepers of magic themselves – kids. They spoke, and after hearing their love for the magical unicorn, we listened.” When it comes to Lucky Charms and their marshmallow-y choices, the unicorn is the first one that has ever been created and inspired by the kiddos.

If you were a major hourglass fan, sorry. But hey, who doesn’t want just a little bit of magic in their morning cereal bowl?
