Dad, Eric Massicote, recently took to Twitter to share his wife’s genius solution to their 6-year-old drawing on the wall with a marker. According to BuzzFeed, 6-year-old Ryan decided that the living room wall would be the perfect place to teach his 4-year-old brother how to draw a house. Of course, Eric’s wife Kim wasn’t too pleased to discover her son’s work of art, which was created while she was packing up their backpacks for school. Instead of getting angry, or breaking out the magic eraser, Kim decided to do something a little different.

When Eric arrived home that afternoon he found that Kim had set up a small frame on the wall around the drawing and placed a card underneath like the type you would find under artwork in a museum. The card read: “Interrupted House, 2017. Marker on latex paint. Gifted to his parents, by surprise.” While the kids didn’t quite understand the joke, the lesson was driven home that writing on the wall was a big no-no. “Writing on the wall is no longer taboo, so they are not interested in repeating it!” Eric told BuzzFeed.
