This Mrs. Doubtfire OG Cast Reunion Was the Sweetest—& Yet Still Bittersweet

Nostalgia alert! There was a recent Mrs. Doubtfire cast reunion and it you can watch it—on Instagram.

Yep, your fave childhood movie is making a reappearance 25 years later. At least, the actors are. Recently, Pierce Brosnan reconnected with fellow Doubtfire cast members Lisa Jakub, Mara Wilson and Matthew Lawrence. The former child actors from the film gleefully greeted Brosnan, sharing hugs and warm words.

In a video clip, which Jakub later posted on IG, Brosnan is seen saying, “Love you, love you all so much. So good to be part of your lives.” Aww.

Even though there was plenty of love during this 25 year reunion, the group gathering was also bittersweet. The meetup was very noticeably missing two key figures: Sally Field, who played the mom and of course, the man who brought the title character of Mrs. Doubtfire to the big screen, the late actor Robin Williams.

Brosnan posted on IG, “Today after 25 years, I gathered around a table in the company of three beautiful young people, to talk story about a film that has touched the hearts of so many. Sally is on tour with her new book. Robin is in heaven making the angels laugh and was spoken of with the fondest of love and sweet memories.”

The 25th reunion meet-up wasn’t totally random: the group got together for a TODAY Show interview that will air in November, so we’ll get to see them all again soon.
