With a slew of new family-friendly eateries opening up around the city, New York now offers more places than ever to grab a bite with the kids. From a Mexican restaurant in Queens that is quick to offer crayons and paper to a cozy cafe in Brooklyn that serves Nutella by the spoonful, here are some of the hottest newcomers to the New York restaurant scene that welcome young foodies. This newly opened restaurant at the edge of Madison Square Park boasts a variety of old world and up-and-coming craft Belgian beers and an extensive selection of Belgian-inspired cuisine. The Hoegaarden Mussels, steamed in Hoegaarden beer, garlic, lemon and chive, are not to be missed. There is also a kids menu featuring a burger, chicken fingers, a grilled cheese sandwich and spaghetti. And it’s conveniently located near Appleseeds, City Treehouse and Little Athletes Exploration Center at Chelsea Piers, in case you want to squeeze in some indoor play after lunch.
