Scott Valins, Co-Founder of <a target="_blank" href="http://candobaby.com/" target="_blank">CanDoBaby, a mobile tech suite of must-have parenting tools
"I'll be taking my 3 year old daughter Lucia to Russ & Daughters on the Lower East Side. Nothing is better than a daddy-daughter herring outing. My wife Liz's grandfather used to have a shop on the Lower East Side, and I'm sure he was a regular at Russ's. It's actually, also not far where my grandfather lived when he came to NYC in 1929. Liz and I used to head down there, for years - taking each of our fathers, respectively - when they were in town. That tradition has carried on, and as our daughter was born, she started to accompany us on those trips. Now, our daughter cannot get enough of herring, nova, sardines and whitefish (All great fats & oils for child brain development). So now, as a father, I get to carry on that traditional pilgrimage with my family. For me, it's a win-win."fuck
