Frozen, fruity and lighter than ice cream, ice pops really hit the spot on a hot, humid, NYC summer day. The trendiest spots go above and beyond the Popsicles of our youth to offer your kids (and you) and chilly, flavor explosion worth the sugar rush. Read on to discover Red Tricycle’s favorite ice pops including shops, stands and even a locally made popsicle that you can pick up while buying groceries. They’ll beat a dunk in the Hudson River (eww!) or a stir-crazy afternoon at home in the A/C any day.

Brewla Bars

Brewla Bars are made locally with a brew base (hence the name) of tea, root beer or espresso, along with fruit juices or dairy. While they don't have shop, you can buy them year round at grocery stores throughout the city and keep your freezer stocked with their yummy goodness for all of your emergency ice pop needs.

Where to find them: While these made-in-NYC bars aren't sold at a dedicated Brewla store, you can find Brewla Bars at Whole Foods Market, Fairway Market, Gourmet Garage and other specialty retailers throughout New York City.  A list of retailers is on the Brewla Bars website.

What to order: Brewla Bars only come in five flavors and the Craft Brewed Root Beer Float is a sure kid favorite. Other options include: Cherry Pomegranate and Red Tea, Peach Ginger and White Tea, Raspberry and Green Tea and Sweetened Espresso.

Cost: $3 each. The cost of a box of bars varies by location.

Good to know: Brewla Bars have only 70 calories each and contain less sugar than an apple, so the whole family can enjoy the treat guilt free. They are all natural, gluten free and certified Kosher, too.
