NYC’s Best Kid-Friendly Farm to Table Restaurants

We may not be within a stone’s throw of anything even close to a silo, barn or haystack, but thanks to some very innovative chefs and restaurant owners, the farms are coming to us. Happily, New Yorkers have embraced the local food movement in a big way — and farm-to-table dining isn’t just for adults. Flip through for 9 of the city’s top farm-to-table restaurants that welcome diners of all ages.

Comfort Food at Its Finest

Foragers City Table is a Chelsea gem that delivers stylish comfort dishes with fresh ingredients grown at their own farm in upstate New York. If you’re going for brunch, don’t miss the vegetarian chili with soft poached eggs and cilantro, topped with their homemade cornbread. We also recommend splitting an order of the orange blossom ricotta pancakes; they are unique and decadent. For young diners, the chef can prepare a yummy grilled cheese, roasted chicken breast, pasta or mac ‘n’ cheese. And if the kids get antsy, there are crayons and a drawing on the back of the children’s menu to color. Crowds start lining up around noon, and it can be tough to make a reservation the same day, so be sure to go early or plan ahead. There are plenty of high chairs, but limited stroller parking so it’s best to use a carrier.
