We may not be within a stone’s throw of anything even close to a silo, barn or haystack, but thanks to some very innovative chefs and restaurant owners, the farms are coming to us. Happily, New Yorkers have embraced the local food movement in a big way — and farm-to-table dining isn’t just for adults. Flip through for 9 of the city’s top farm-to-table restaurants that welcome diners of all ages.

A Fantastic Kids Menu

The Farm on Adderley boasts an eclectic menu of new American fare that draws crowds to this popular spot in Ditmas Park. The room is cozy, featuring brick walls and rustic farm decor. The food is always top notch, and made from locally sourced ingredients. Butternut squash ravioli, grilled pork, and farm burger on a homemade english muffin are some highlights from the menu. Young foodies will love the homemade french fries with curry mayo. They can also order off of the kids’ menu, which features grilled cheese, crispy tofu, organic beef hot dogs, buttered egg noodles and PB&J. The restaurant doubles as an event space and hosts some fun family outings, including a Gingerbread House Making in December. The Farm on Adderley 1108 Cortelyou Rd.
